| Today, the Pennsylvania Career Fire Chiefs Association was represented at the State Capitol in Harrisburg in support of House Bill 2394, introduced by Representative Joe Ciresi, to establish a statewide firefighter cancer screening program.
This important legislation would provide free annual cancer screening examinations for career and volunteer firefighters across Pennsylvania when those services are not fully covered by their health insurance.
Chief Frank Hand, stated “Firefighters put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities. They deserve access to the preventive healthcare and early detection services that can help protect their health, their families, and their futures.”
Cancer remains a significant occupational risk in the fire service. Supporting early detection and accessible screenings is an important step toward taking care of the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving others.
The Pennsylvania Career Fire Chiefs Association stands alongside the other statewide fire service organizations in advocating for firefighter health, safety, and well-being.
Now is the time to turn support into action! Let’s work together to move House Bill 2394 through the full legislative process and get this important initiative passed into law. |
